A Rose flavoured KitKat? Okay, I’m game. Let’s go.
If you’ve been following the KitKat posts this week, you’ll know the fab @AmySeeksNewtreats got it for me as a gift.
I’m not gonna beat about the bush with this one; it’s perhaps the worst KitKat I’ve ever tried.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved trying it – I’ve eaten the whole thing. Partly because I needed to for the review, partly because I was curious whether the taste would grow on me. It didn’t.
The scent is immediately potent and lands somewhere between “old lady potpourri” and Turkish Delight.
Taste wise it’s absolutely more of the same. This is a highly perfumed flavour that’s utterly packed with rose. I didn’t catch any of the berry taste that’s supposedly in here at all because the floral rose was just so strong.
I felt like the wafer inside was a little bit different too, as though it was slightly sturdier. Of course that could just be my imagination.
So overall it’s not a winner for me, or even an average KitKat. Though I do like rose flavoured Turkish Delight, I didn’t like the overly ambitiously artificial rose flavour in this particular bar.
