This is the Limited Batch Raspberry Lemonade Yogurt from Chobani. Spoiler: It’s a good one!
Real and ripe raspberries beneath a layer of refreshing lemon Chobani® Greek Yogurt.
Ingredients: Cultured lowfat milk, water, cane sugar, raspberry puree, lemon puree, fruit pectin, natural flavors, locust bean gum, fruit and vegetable juice concentrate (for color), guar gum, lemon juice concentrate.
If you’ve been to the blog before, you’ll know I love Chobani yogurts. They’re consistently good quality, well executed and imaginative. I pretty much eat one every day as a dessert after my evening meal.
This particular yogurt is a limited edition one, on sale in the USA for the summer season – and it’s so, so tasty. We actually bought a couple just to try them out, but in the very next shopping trip I bought double.
Pulling back the lid and it smells like a cross between Drumstick lollies and Refreshers. For the non-UKers reading this, that means I got lots of sherbet-like raspberry and lemon in the aroma.
Though this yogurt isn’t a particularly good example to photograph, there’s usually a pale lemon yellow layer of yogurt on top. It has a smoothly creamy lemon flavour. Now I know you can’t really see it here, but you’ll have to trust me on it.
Underneath the yogurt there’s a pool of saucy raspberry. It’s manufactured in the same way as the “Fruit on the Bottom” range, so if you’ve had those before you’ll know what to expect.
Mixing it all up leaves the yogurt a beautiful pale pink colour.
The flavour is just so good here. It’s bright with sweet lemon and raspberry flavours, plus there’s an almost sherbet-like fizzy quality to the flavour.
It tastes like my childhood sweets have been infused into a thick and creamy yogurt, and I’m so here for that.
Yes, it tastes like American lemonade and juicy, sweet raspberries. It’s absolutely spot on as far as I’m concerned.
I am specifying American lemonade though – which is essentially a mixture of lemons, sugar and water. It’s not the clear fizzy stuff you’ll get in the UK. Really you need to think along the lines of a less carbonated or flat Cloudy Lemonade.
This pot of yogurt is absolutely delicious and perfect for summer. I love it!
