Would you believe it? On my recent trip to the UK I took the grand opportunity to stock up on Nakd bars. My stash flew safely back to Munich in my suitcase – so here we are! I’m going with the Peanut Delight bar first…
There’s a whole list of things that are good to know about this Peanut Delight:
- Dairy Free
- Wheat and Gluten Free
- GM Free
And there’s a lovely, simple ingredients list to go with it: Dates (53%), Peanuts (46%), Sea salt and a hint of natural flavouring.
This lovely bar has a deep, rich peanut taste from chunky peanut pieces and of course, they’re smooshed together with delicious dates. | Nakd
Now I’ve not tried this one before, so I was looking forward to getting stuck in. On opening it’s got a super nutty scent and on munching there’s a lovely, real, roasted peanut flavour.
There’s not over much to say about this bar, if I’m honest. It’s just a little sweet (thanks dates) and just a little salty, making it nicely balanced and delicious.
Peanuts are the only nuts present, which means the flavour isn’t diluted and washed out. Though I can’t comment on the wholesale manufacturers price of nuts and which would be the cheapest to use, I am glad Nakd have opted to go with just peanuts in a peanut bar. It does make sense, after all.
These are seriously good… but. But! But. Just to make you aware: it’s not a peanut buttery flavour or texture. Yes it’s peanut, but there’s something (perhaps in the non-squidgy texture) that keeps it from veering over into a peanut butter bar.
I liked this one and would happily buy it again!
