This is the Less Sugar Greek Yogurt Lemon Cookie Crunch from Chobani. It’s rather a long name, so we’ll just call it a Lemon Cookie Crunch – mostly because I think you’d have a hard time telling it’s lower sugar.
I basically raved about Chobani in an earlier review (the Perfect Peach Cobbler Flip). They’re like Muller corners if Muller got creative and made a seriously thick and tasty yogurt.
The selling point of this one is that it contains less sugar. 30% less than other mix-in yogurts* , if we’re going to be specific about it.
White chocolate citrus chunks and lemon cookie crumble on creamy fino lemon Greek Yogurt makes a seriously citrusy, subtly sweet crunch with less sugar*.
Ingredients: Cultured low fat milk, cane sugar, water, wheat flour, lemon puree, palm oil, cocoa butter, milk, fruit and vegetable juice concentrate (for color), natural flavors, fruit pectin, salt, locust bean gum, baking soda, honey, malted barley flour, guar gum, soy lecithin, skim milk, lemon oil, orange oil, lemon juice, orange juice, contains milk, wheat and soy. manufactured on a line that also handles peanuts and tree nuts.
As expected, Chobani have delivered a seriously thick and rich yogurt. This tastes more like I’m used to Greek yogurt tasting. You know the kind I mean, with a lingering tangy quality at the end. That’s likely down to there being less sugar overall in the product, and I’m super happy about it.
The lemon flavour is light and comes through nicely, but the flavour really pops when you get a piece of the chocolate.
With the mix-ins, the white chocolate has a bright and zesty lemon flavour. It pairs perfectly with a portion of crumbly, sweet, golden shortbread biscuit pieces.
Thanks to there being less sugar in the product, my tongue really noticed the sweetness of the crumble and it worked so well to tie all the other flavours together. I think the amount of sugar was perfectly judged.
This thing is completely delicious, like eating lemon shortbreads in yogurt format.
