This is the Freezable Cookies and Cream KitKat from Nestlé Japan.
Delicious Cookies & Cream flavour variety that you can put in the freezer!
After finding the Strawberry Cheesecake KitKat to be pretty lacklustre, I wasn’t holding out much hope for this one.
Wow, was I wrong! This KitKat is genius frozen.
It’s got the same cool, crunchy texture when you’re eating it as the Strawberry Cheesecake version, but this time the flavours really stand out as benefiting from living in the freezer.
It tastes like the inside of an Oreo had a baby with vanilla ice cream. The flavour is sweet, rich and fully enjoyable.
Embedded in the chocolate coating are little tiny crumbs of (what I assume are) crushed cocoa biscuits. They have an Oreo cookie vibe about them, adding a lovely background cocoa biscuit flavour to the bar.
This one is really fun and works very well.
Just to make sure I wasn’t being unduly praiseworthy of a frozen KitKat, I tried one at room temperature. It’s still fine, but it loses that ice cream vibe. It seems much sweeter and the balance between the cookie taste and cream flavours isn’t right.
This is definitely one to keep in your freezer. Tasty and fun!
