It’s been a busy week! Let’s get all caught up with some foodie news, reviews and special mentions that popped up on the internet in the last 7 days.

Products & News

  • Walkers Closing Peterlee Factory | Another week, another global company downsizing in the UK… | Food Manufacture
  • Dairy Free Iced Coffee | Jimmy’s is bringing a dairy free iced coffee to the market soon. It’s made with oat milk and will come in a 330ml green carton! You’ll be able to find it in some Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Whole Foods stores. | Food Bev
  • Mars Choc Brownie | Now this sounds like the Xtra Choc Mars bar I can already get in Germany. Looking forward to seeing the reviews pop up online! | Convenience Store
  • Walkers Sensations Update | With a refresh to its packaging and three new flavours to go for, Walkers Sensations are hoping to renew interest in their offer. Mango & Red Chilli Chutney would absolutely end up in my shopping basket at least once. Any of the new flavours tickle your fancy? | Talking Retail
  • Limited Edition Poshcorn | Tyrrell’s are going for a Toasted Marshmallow variant to add interest to their summer lineup. Definitely looking forward to seeing those important taste-test reviews! | FDIN

  • Pana Chocolate Orange | Raw, organic and handmade – the pricing of this bar is definitely on the luxury end. But isn’t the packaging gorgeous? | Foodstuff Finds
  • Little Lemon Temptations | New from The Coconut Collaborative, these dairy, soya and gluten free desserts are suitable for vegans and sound utterly delicious. Have you tried them yet? | Nibbles’n’Scribbles
  • Waffles & Syrup Oreos | Junk Banter are always good for a giggle and a sneaky look at new products on American shelves. I’m not an Oreo person usually but these look close enough to Custard Creams (texture, not flavour) that I’d be willing to give ’em a go. What do you think? | Junk Banter
  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Spread | Kev’s back on the reviewing game this week with some awesome ice cream reviews – but instead, I’m featuring this lovely look at a Reese’s peanut butter spread. Sounds like having a jar of this in a cupboard could be dangerous! | Kev’s Snack Reviews

Special Mentions

  • German Words in English | This is a great YouTube video with Trixie (Don’t Trust The Rabbit) and Dana (Wanted Adventure) taking a look at some of the German words used by American English speakers. You’ll also find a bit of overlap with British English too! Can you think of anything they missed? | Don’t Trust The Rabbit
  • The First Six Months | Moving to a new place can be difficult. Moving to a new country where you don’t know the customs and don’t speak the language? That can be so much harder than you’d ever expected. Have a look at this post from Alice and see if you spot anything familiar to your experience! I know I did. | Alice’s Adventures in Deutschland
  • 13 Things Germans Love… | But Expats really don’t get why! Is there anything you think should be added to this list? Anything you think maybe shouldn’t be on there? My vote goes to flea markets. They are beyond adored here, with a large flea market being hosted in the middle of Munich on a monthly basis! I just don’t get it… | Live Work Germany

What’s on Next Week

  • Viktualienmarkt – Brotmarkt | As part of the celebrations for the Viktualienmarkt’s 210th birthday, this week sees a special Bread Market arrive within the historic market place. Eleven members of the Bäcker-Innung München (Baker’s Guild of Munich) are involved. Take a look at the “Brotmarkt-Flyer” as a PDF download from here to see the stall locations! | Viktualienmarkt Munich | 16th – 20th May, from 10am | Facebook | Free Entry
  • Streetlife Festival | This festival focuses on being creative and active in public spaces – and to support this objective, huge streets are closed to traffic and filled with activities, information kiosks, craft, food and drink stalls. There’s even live music! | Streetlife Festival | Ludwig and Leopoldstrasse, Munich | 20th May, from 4pm – 2am & 21st May, from 11am – 8pm | Free Entry
